About The Hair Scientist

Athena McIntosh is a wife, mother, and grandmother. She is a graduate of DeVry University with a BS in Business Information Technology and an MBA in General Management from Keller Graduate School of Management.

Athena became a Master Cosmetologist of 28 years because of her passion for building and maintaining healthy hair for women. Along the way, she became a Certified Hair Loss Specialist and Non- Surgical Hair Loss Specialist. 

Athena realized that a woman losing her hair can be debilitating and can cause self-esteem issues. She was sure that specializing in hair loss as well as healthy hair and scalp was needed for many reasons. Just to name a few, to teach women about how to care for their hair outside of the salon, what signs to look for when you could be losing your hair, the importance of proper diet, and regular hair maintenance could make a difference in retaining hair.

Athena went on to study the hair and scalp a little deeper through a team of Trichologist at USTI in New York. This would change the game for so many women who cross her path. Knowledge is power and Athena believes in empowering women about their hair and scalp. The more they know, the more they can help themselves.

Athena McIntosh is the owner of A Marie Hair Wellness in Atlanta GA. This hair scientist believes that hair responds to good and bad habits. She is here to teach women that they have options to put their hair care needs in the winning seat.
